FCGB U18 Girls WIN Premier League TITLE
A great weekend for FCGB with a Wisconsin State Premier League Title for the U18 Girls Orange and their coach Quinn Ross.

10/26
FCGB U18 GO - Racine Spartans (9-1)
In their final match of the season, FCGB secured the State Premier League title in convincing fashion with a 9-1 thumping of Racine at Kiwanis Park.  The match was even for only 180 seconds before Jenna Peplinski gave the Orange their first from an Aselibia A. serve.  Marlo V. netted #2, and Kristin K. the third as her shot to the opposing goalies hands had too much heat for her to hold on such a frigid day.  Alyssa C. pounded the fourth into the upper netting, and Chandra E. finished precisely to the far corner.  By now the blue visitors had wished they stayed home, and Marlo hit her second of the day before half for a 6-0 lead at intermission.  Wholesale changes to the lineup caused a brief moment of confusion to start the final 45, and Racine got one back.  However, Lindsay C. again scorched the keepers fingers to make it 7-1, and Lauren M. followed-up her own shot and had the best celebration of the year as she pumped her fists into the wind, excited to be a striker again.  Skipper Stephanie S. fittingly ended the scoring for the Orange with her easy finish after a heads up quick free kick.  FCGB finished the league season unbeaten at 5-0-2 with 27 goals scored and only 3 conceded, and some of the team will be in St. Louis next weekend with the FCGB U17s for the Metro United College Showcase.

Polonia Eagles - FCGB U15 GO (1-1)

On a windy, snowy and rainy day the U15 Girls were unable to defeat the Polonia team on the south side of Milwaukee. The girls in Orange went down a goal in the early stages of the game. Cierra P. was able to level the score when she scored a goal.  She has now scored a goal in 4 consecutive games, but the team were unable to put another one in the net. This upcoming weekend they will face MK Gremantown 1pm Saturday and Madison 56-ers on Sunday at Kiwanis, if they win both games they will have a great chance of coming out on top in the First Division White of the Wisconsin State League.

Grafton Rangers - FCGB U14 BO (1-2)
With the sideline of the parents facing the stiff wind that was hauling through all of Wisconsin this day, and the coach and managers nicely sheltered by the high trees on the opposite side of the field the U14's kicked off at 2:00 pm in Grafton, in what turned out to be their best game to date of the season.
Grafton was the first team to score on this day. Somewhat against the run of play Grafton's dangerous midfielder hit a nice shot from 25+ yards which surprised not only the FCGB defenders but also FCGB GK-er Logan V. The goal did not take any sting out of the play the U14's displayed this afternoon, if anything it made them play even better. Will K. evened out the score when he picked up and clinically finished a deflected pass from Marco D. The guys in Orange started to do a great job of connecting passes as well as winning most of their individual battles on the field. Grafton came into this game with a 3-1 record and so were by no means an easy opponent. On a textbook "counter attack" Michael L. hit Edgar B. with a great leading pass on the right flank, Edgar then crossed the ball across the Grafton penalty box where he found Thomas S. who tucked the ball into the net, beating the Grafton keeper to the ball. The second half the Green Bay team had some great chances to close the deal, Will, Edgar, Michael and Marco where unlucky not to find the net. Logan V. had to come up with two big time saves when the referee suprised not only the FCGB team but also every Grafton player and coach when he called a PK after Paul P. cleared a ball over the sideline on a great tackle. Logan stopped the PK as well as the rebound shot. Without exceptions all FCGB players deserved credit for the win and the way the team played on this day.
The U14's simply wanted this game more and as often happens when you put in the effort things will start "clicking", guys are coaching eachother, passes connect, clearances go where they are supposed to and you start winning most of the 50/50 battles. Let's see if the guys learned and do not forget what it takes to win games and that when you do the things described above, you at least put yourself in a position to get a good result. Sunday at Allouez Kiwanis against the Pumas from Tosa, we will find out!

De Pere - FCGB U17 GO (0-0)
On a very cold, windy and drizzly Sunday, the 17s met up with DePere for the second time in two weeks, this time on their home pitch.  The first 15 minutes were a little hectic, with a few failed clearances nearly costing the visitors.  Then for a 20-25 minute stretch, FCGB won tackles, found feet and created several opportunities which tested the converted DePere keeper.  Generve C. hit two from long-range, and the best chance from Ashley N. was saved nicely up high.  Lauren R. and Kelly E. held the DePere midfield in check, and despite having the better of it, FCGB went to the break tied at zero.  The second half brought more drizzle, but still no goals.  Khadija N. had a close look during a confusing scenario where a DePere player was down, then on the ensuing throw-in back to Orange, the hosts created a good chance of their own, which was stuffed by Jasmine M. in goal.  Two yellow cards and some interesting whistles were all the excitement that remained and the match finished 0-0.  The 17s return to action next weekend as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri for a college showcase tournament.
