Game Highlights for 10/4 and 10/5 State League Games
A game on Sunday for the U14 Boys, no games (sunday game had to be rescheduled) for the U15 Girls team, two games for the U17 Girls and a late Sunday afternoon affair for the U18 Girls squad!

FCGB U17 Girls Orange - FC Milwaukee White (2-4)
Only one team came in action on this beautiful fall day. The U17 Girls team had a full squad for the first time in a few weeks.
The FC from Milwaukee started the game strong, winning pretty much all the battles on the pitch, they were more aggressive and much sharper then the FC from Green Bay. The bad start resulted in a quick 0-2 deficit for the Orange Girls from GB. Generve C. decided to play a bal to the far post of the FC Milwaukee goal and Katie N. decided that she would "cash in" this nice cross (1-2), a glimmer of hope for a comeback, and maybe we found a weakness in the FC Milw. defense. Before the half was over two more goals would fall, some poor defending lead to a Milwaukee goal from a pretty tough angle. Not a minute later FCGB scored through another high ball to the backpost area, this time Kelley E. whipped a free-kick to the backpost, Ashley N. moved it on to Becca F. who finished to make teh score 2-3 at the half.
The Orange girls were not able to really turn the tide and make a fist in the 2nd half, the Milwaukee FC team added a 4th goal through the best player on the pitch this afternoon on a shot from about 30 yards out.
U15 Girls Orange player Kelsey S. had a strong outing for the U17 team this day as a club pass player.

FCGB U14 Boys Orange - KM United Blue (1-1)
The expectation for this game was that the U14 team from Green Bay would come out "firing on all cilinders". Playing a team they lost to prior in the season (3-1 at the FC Milwaukee tournament), coming off a hard fought 1-1 game with FC Milwaukee White last weekend, a game that showed that effort can get you results.
It did not work out that way. The guys came out as "flat as a pancake", and really should have been down by more than a goal at half time. The Kettle Moraine United team would pay for letting the Green Bay team "hang around" as the 2nd half was a completely different story. It looked as if all the guys had drank a gallon of Red Bull at half time. Winning tackles and 50/50 balls, crisper passing, active defending, taking on defenders, it was not as if Arsenal had stepped on the field, but it did look a lot better. The effort resulted in a PK when Michael L. "slalommed" his way into the box and was taken down by a defender. Going against all unwritten soccer rules, Michael stepped behind the ball himself and put the PK in the net. The game got a bit "chippier", FCGB forward Will K. was shown that the ground was pretty hard, especially when you get shoved into it.
Overall a good result for the boys in orange, now learn that we need to always come out ready to play and we will be ok!
FCGB U17 Girls Orange - MYSC Blue (0-1)
The U17 Girls from Green Bay "tapped out of a different barrel" this afternoon. More intensity, coaching eachother and simply just going after it a bit more.
There were very few chances in this game, MYSC capitalized on an FCGB error in the early part of the 2nd half. FCGB did not unwrap the gifts which MYSC tried to give them twice in the closing minutes of the game. The ball twisted and turned on the MYSC goal line, waiting to be tapped or slid into the net, no takers. Later the MYSC goalie tried to help the FCGB forwards out by mishitting a pass back, again no one capitalized. A good overall effort by the Green Bay team, just falling a bit short, and maybe missing some sharpness (which often results in some needed luck). Nothing a good week of training can't fix!
Brookfield Red - FCGB U18 Girls Orange (0-6)
The 18s left sunny Green Bay on Sunday, traveling south to Brookfield where it was raining heavy. Without a regular goalkeeper, things did not bode well for the red-clad hosts. FCGB jumped on top early as Jenna P. hit a shot that was rebounded to Rebecca H. for the follow-up. Jenna P. was then knocked to the ground inside the box, and Kara D. finished the ensuing PK to the lower corner. Chandra E. got into the act as well with a nicely placed shot and a 3-0 halftime advantage. Unfortunately for the team, defender Sarah F. slipped on the wet surface and injured her knee before the break, she sat the rest of the match out and the extent of the injury is not fully known yet. The 2nd half brought more of the same as Kara D. scored two more and Beckah R. added another PK for the 6 goal difference. Meanwhile, Lauren M. slid into the middle of the back four and did a fine job in her new role alongside McKenzie K. and in front of GK Jenna Phelps for the shutout. The Orange remained unbeaten in State Premier league play with an upcoming match this Sunday at Croatians Park.
